Prenda

Prenda is an ed-tech company with the vision of helping young people learn technology in a fun, informal settings. It helps libraries and schools run code clubs weekly meetings where people work together to teach themselves computer programming.

Prenda provides a tuition-free learning experience that empowers community members, called Guides, to lead world-class learning pods for K-8 students. Prenda offers support and tools, funds, and training to these guides who run microschools, typically from their own homes or local community centers. Certified teaching professionals from Prenda monitor student progress and help guides respond to student educational needs appropriately. Prenda partners with state-accredited institutions to provide a tuition-free education option.

The Prenda model provides the structure to a research-based, holistic learning approach. Students begin their day with Connect, then Conquer, then Collaborate, and end with Create. Together, these modes were developed to empower students with the gift of learning how to learn.

The empowerment principles ( C.A.M.P.) help kids look at learning through this lens. Skills within each of these principles are nurtured in Connect Mode and set students up for success in all other areas of their learning.
