We’ve been using Protectimus for 2FA at our company for years. Keeps access to company stuff safe for employees and customers, adds an extra layer so accounts ain’t easy to hack.
Most ppl use software apps for OTP. Some go with Google Authenticator, some with Protectimus Smart. It also sends one-time passwords & msgs via Telegram, Viber, FB Messenger.
Main point is just making user accounts safer. Cuts risk of unauthorized access, so it’s a big part of our security setup.

Cons
- One thing they could improve is a full credential provider for macOS. The Windows version works great, letting 2FA happen right at login. But since there’s nothing like that for Macs yet, we can’t roll out 2FA to all employees.
Return on Investment
- It doesn’t just give us 2FA, which we need for stuff like PCI DSS. It also helps us save $$. Sending intl SMS costs about $0.30 each. With Protectimus, we can send OTPs and payment alerts via messaging bots instead of SMS. It’s free & easy for users. Sending ~50k msgs a month, that’s a lot of savings.
