Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Proton Mail is actually an entire suite of products including email, vpn, cloud storage, password manager, calendar, and wallet. All are secure and encrypted. I regularly use the mail, vpn, and cloud storage.

Pros

  • Secure encrypted email hosting
  • Connection with Outlook works well
  • Works well on all platforms: web, Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS
  • Low monthly cost for email plus all the associated apps

Cons

  • Exporting email (which I like to do for archiving) is awkward and slow.
  • Proton Mail Bridge (which allows access from other email readers like Outlook) sometimes has synchronization issues. Lately these just resolve themselves.

Likelihood to Recommend

Good if you like privacy and not having your data mined for advertizing and AI training.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I currently use Protonmail for personal use at home. I wanted to use something where my data would not be sold as on larger platforms that are "free." Proton does a great job of this and also offers other privacy-focused products.
