Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my previous company, we used Qlik Replicate as the primary tool for near-real-time data integration. The flexibility it provides allows you to perform simple ETL tasks directly within the software. This was crucial for our retail company with an ecommerce platform, as we needed to fulfill orders quickly and align stock information almost immediately.

Pros

  • Real time integration
  • User experience
  • Performance

Cons

  • Data mapping
  • Integration with external custom code

Likelihood to Recommend

As a retail company, it is crucial to have consistent and accurate stock information across all systems. Qlik Replicate is a useful tool for achieving this goal, as it efficiently replicates data in near-real-time. However, it may not be the best option for data that requires pre-aggregation before replication. In such cases, using another tool or Qlik View/Sense script may be more appropriate and avoid the need for replicate.

We use Qlik replicate to extract data from sources to a decentralized environment to minimize the impact on our production sources. We do this on any data sources that are relevant for our data engineers. We have different types of sources that all need to be replicated and Qlic replicate has done a good job so far for our data sources like Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft SQL servers.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Qlik Replicate to Move Data over from 14 DB2 on-prem servers to AWS cloud. The tool is very easy to configure between any Source and Target. We never had any issues with it so far. It scales to a greater extent, and we can customize it to our need for Replication frequency and the format in which you want the data to be delivered into Target. It was a great suit for us, as we were looking for a tool that can read data from our Journals and not from the physical tables, so the performance of the transaction system is not Impacted. I would definitely recommend Qlik Replicate for other companies looking out for a Replication Tool.

Pros

  • Easy to Scale
  • Multiple Endpoint options
  • Options of Output format

Cons

  • Logging
  • Alerting

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for scenarios where you want to read from Journals and not from Physical Tables. Data reconciliation is not done with Qlik Replicate.
