Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I utilize Realm for event planning, registration, and other communication within out congregation. Through Realm I am able to announce upcoming fundraising and other program events. I can reach out to people who may be interested in volunteering or people in our church community who may want to connect in other ways.

Likelihood to Recommend

Realm has been easy to access and works well for the size of our church. It can be hard to get people to buy in, especially those of a certain generation, but in other ways it has proven very useful and successful. I think as we continue to utilize the different aspects of the software we will find more people connecting and engaging.

Best and Faster Data base "Realm"

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Realm is an open-source database for the mobile platform. So I have used it in my many IOS project. My current project also using Realm Database. My current project is related to agriculture and it needs to run full offline mode (without internet) with huge data. so after a log of R&D, we finally selected Realm. It is used by the Android team as well. Fetching data from the realm Database is very fast and this makes our app after and because of this we as a developer and client are too happy. I feel it is the best Database available in the market.

  • It support multiple platform
  • It free of cost, and easy to integrate in project
  • It has good Documentation.

Cons

  • As it has all type of necessary feature which should have any Data base.
  • If we can save full structure in Realm easily then i think it will be good for developer.

In my current project, I am saving the full model into the Realm Database. it takes very little time to integrate into our existing project.

So it helps us to save a lot of time and easy to fetch data and CRUD operation with any type of data. and according to our need, we can modify it as well.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Realm is the membership database and financial tracking tool used at Maple Grove United Methodist Church. All office employees and many church members use Realm. Realm allows the staff users to run reports, keep track of tithing, business expenses, attendance, groups, contact information, and more. It also provides communication among individual users, among groups, and church-wide.

Pros

  • Tracking attendance
  • Running reports, both financial and membership-related
  • Nursery check-in

Cons

  • At the time of my departure from employment at Maple Grove UMC, there was no way to run a report with children's names listed on the same row (excel sheet) as parents. This made it difficult when we needed to do a merge letter that includes both parents/guardians and children.
  • The process to "roll up" grade levels each year was tedious.

Likelihood to Recommend

Realm is a user-friendly, intuitive web-based database manager, great for church membership and financial information. Transitioning was easy--even our 90-year old attendance volunteer made the switch with ease. The customer service staff at Realm is fantastic. As I mentioned before, my one big complaint is the inability to pull a report with children outputted on the same row in excel as their parents.
