We use Rebilly to process orders from customers safely and securely online. We have implemented echecks in the past as well. We have a custom website/funnel which we utilize Rebilly's API to process these payments. We also use their Webhooks to trigger events post-sale.

They have many features which can be implemented or simply kept in mind, depending on the scope/features that the retailer wishes to use.
