Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Our team uses Samsara for back office verification of trip times using the GPS history and updates clients in real time. Drivers use the app for pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles. Our ops team uploads inspection reports, receipts, and maintenance records to Samsara for compliance. We are looking forward to the AI coaching.
Pros
- Overall ease of use
- The feed walks the driver through all of the touch points
- Easy for drivers to leave notes and add photos for the Ops team to review
Cons
- Overall, it does a good job
- It would be nice to have an integration where it pings the Ops team when particular defaults are found.
- The log-out could be better if it had reminders for drivers to log-out. They often forget and then the office team manually has to log them out.
Return on Investment
- Samsara has helped our customer-facing staff to verify the length of trips when they come into question, which saves us hard-earned money.
- Driver workflows allow the Ops team to review defects reported by drivers easily and fix issues before they become more costly.
- Hoping that we never need to use it, we have dual-facing dash cams for liability reasons.
