We use Ariba as an integration platform for customers. For hosting catalogs and transmitting orders, order confirmations, and invoices. We also respond to inquiries and tenders via this portal. We have also created a public catalog where we can present our company and our products. This enables us to automate processes and generate revenue

Pros

  • Integration cXML
  • catalogue hosting
  • shop integration

Cons

  • Help desk
  • Catalogue status information
  • activation tasks dashboard

Likelihood to Recommend

SAP Ariba integrates our individual processes well. SAP Ariba provides a platform for inquiries, catalogs, or shops, and follow-up documents such as orders, order confirmations, notices, and invoices. We can automate different customers with the same protocols in some but not all cases. We often implement an integration project within three months.

SAP Ariba - A digital purchase assistant

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SAP Ariba solves problem of fragmented procurement functionality by offering digital and centralised sourcing, purchase, contracts and invoicing. Additionally, helps in spend visibility, compliance, supplier relation and risk management, and accelerating payments. We use SAP Ariba for end to end S2P (particularly for RFPs and supplier onboarding), supplier management and their risk assessment (suppliers lifecycle and risk scorecard), contract management (storage and compliance), and spend analytics (reporting, dashboards and analytics). This is used across procurement, finance and other BUs across global functionality

Pros

  • Creating, distributing and managing RFP and RFQ responses for suppliers for standardised responses
  • Constant tab on procurement spend and visibility across product categories to identify possible savings and contract negotiations globally
  • Proactive suppliers risk evaluation based on various risk metrics like performance numbers, financial health, compliance met etc

Cons

  • Majorly, the tool is very comprehensive & complex to navigate and use leading richer learning curve - Its difficult to juggle between various fields like contracts, sourcing, suppliers management.
  • It is static platform with limited customization opportunity
  • Complicated integration with no-SAP ERP environments, specially for SMEs who cant afford SAP Ariba
  • Too many auto notifications on Email leading confusion at times

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited for large Global firms with many multi national offices and high procurement spend with complex, and high level compliance needs. Contrary, for SME firms the platform might incur more cost and complications.

SAP Ariba Pros and Cons

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SAP Ariba is used by my client for both indirect and direct procurement. Ariba has streamlined the procurement process and it has also the customer with the supplier onboarding. The SLP module provides a unified dashboard for the vendor master record which holds all the vendor related information thereby mitigating the need for using multiple systems. The integration between the S/4HANA using CIG is seamless as it helps things get done in short span of time. My scope for the customer is to support them for both Supplier Onboarding, Help the customer to save money using RFPs and Auctions. The customer uses SAP Business Network for sending POs in case of direct procurement using SAP ERP

Pros

  • Seamless integration with SAP ERP
  • Unified Vendor Model within SAP Ariba SLP. One stop solution for vendor onboarding
  • User friendly portal for Buying for an end user using Guided Buying portal
  • Savings by using RFPs and Sourcing

Cons

  • Providing customisation access go partners
  • Enable simplified customisation
  • Getting Ariba FedRamp Certified and other government certified
  • At times Ariba is a bit rigid in terms of building new requirements

Likelihood to Recommend

Ariba is suited well when the customer looks out for standard system, the heavier the customisation the slower the system gets and thereby downgrading the system performance. Ariba helps the customer to do the strategic procurement in a more seamless manner. It helps to get the vendor, sourcing specific details flow into the SAP system seamlessly. As the integration happens using CIG
