Our organization use SAP Cloud ERP to manage various business aspects such as finance, procurement, and supply chain operations. We use it to maintain vendor management, purchase orders, procurement management, general ledger, finance management and also to manage centralized data for customer, vendor and material. We use SAP Cloud for the integration with other apps like IFS, Azure data factory, etc.

Pros

It works very well in finance team because journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting all happen on the same dataset.
It handles an end to end flow for procurement, right from the vendor onboarding to the purchase order management.
Compliance and audit ready data is kept in single location

Cons

Customization in SAP systems are very limited specially in public cloud
Integration with other systems sometimes feels confusing and complex due to the OData structures and object name in API
SAP UI and UX needs to improved as per the modern UI requirements.

SAP Cloud ERP is well suited for the global company working in different regions of the world and wants consistent and standardized data across all the sectors. Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use the SAP Cloud ERP to record for some of the business data, where mainly employee and operational data is stored. This is used in our downstream workflows. For us it addresses the data fragmentation issue where we sync the SAP Cloud ERP data into Snowflake environment for reporting purpose. It also integrates well Boomi and Azure ecosystem.

Pros

Centralised data for analytics meaning we are able to pull structured data into snowflake easily.
Cloud native tool due to which resource scaling happens effortlessly & we don't have to worry about maintenance and stuff.
It has built in Integration with Entra ID, which makes our life easier to manage the Single-Sign on authentication.

Cons

Initial configuration is bit challenging for small teams, eg. learning the mapping of custom fields into Snowflake.
Administrative console sometimes lags / feels sluggish.
The licensing & Infrastructure cost can be quite high for small projects / orgnizations.

Likelihood to Recommend

SAP Cloud ERP does offer a free trial, to try out if this fits your requirement / need. If you have Azure environment then implementing identity management (using SSO) makes the administrative work so much easier. However it's less appropriate (case by case basis) for initial setup due to steep learning curve and cost implications.

We have stored the Employee Related information on SAP Cloud ERP to manage our Employees Details. We have integrations in place to get the information related to Employment Tenure or Region the employee is working in or details like email, and phone numbers. We have many integrations between SAP Cloud ERP and Boomi, then also with Azure ADF. We are fetching data from SAP Cloud ERP then transform the data like the business needs for reporting purpose. Then we load the data into Boomi's platform to get the insights of the data.

The API Documentation to integrate them better with other systems.
The response generally we get through API is well structured but too much information is there. The dataset seems like really nested. We have some systems which provides us really good structured data even though it is highly nested but does not feel like SAP Cloud ERP.
The document where we can go through different solutions they have implemented to reach the depth of the data or the node of the data.

Likelihood to Recommend

Employee Management, Sales, and Marketing. It is really good for employee management due to which we are using it for a while now. Also it provides really good documentation and many different solutions under one roof. SAP Cloud ERP is a reputed and serving us since a very long time. It is good for sales as well. An enterprise should focus on the high quality of the solution SAP Cloud ERP provides if they are planning to buy the service.

We (Basware) are a direct integrator of SAP Cloud ERP for Account Payables and, on a daily basis, work with the software and people who use it. SAP itself is a wide product with multiple ERP functionalities, but we work on the S2P, which is the source to pay part. This software, in particular, is very helpful in balancing finances, and when it comes to the Accrual reporting of finance, it fairly does its job.

Ai should be added so that more manual efforts can made automated

It suited well for the companies which wants strong detailed reporting and who are scaling and need more automation.

For smaller teams this wont be suited as the initial setup takes a lot of time and is bit complex
