Silver Peak WAN Optimization (discontinued) Reviews & Insights

We have two locations and Silver Peak is used to provide SD-WAN services between the two locations. IT department is the main use case, and it is used across the entire organization. We have no other SD-WAN solutions. We used to have an MPLS circuit and a site to site VPN and two separate routers to allow connection. Silver Peak VX allowed us to save money by getting rid of the MPLS.

This is well suited when you need to deploy a virtual router to provide SD-WAN services across multiple sites. This works great for small businesses since they added firewall services. The price and feature set are also great for mid-sized enterprises due to the ability to manage multiple appliances with templates, central reporting, and ability to provide high availability of the appliances with VRRP.

Across the whole organization and it optimized our WAN.

It works fantastic when you want to reduce network cost and get the same result than with an MPLS.
It's less appropriate for big companies with a lot of small sites.
