The licensed version can handle around 2 million messages per hour, and the free version handles about 300,000 per hour and licensed version has default 500,000 message buffer, while the free version has a maximum 500 message buffer

We are using SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server to store all the Syslog messages from our network devices which includes Switches, Router, Firewall, Servers, UPS and storage. It is very helpful and easy to use tool in case any incident happens on the device. We can simply filter the logs based on it's IP and incident time and get the last message sent by the affected device.
Pros
storing syslog messages
convert syslog messages into readable form
marking of critical and other events with different colors also helps
Cons
sometimes web services fails and due to which whole server needs to restart
there should be grouping for different types of devices

As managing the area of a mill on large area It is hard to keep an eye on each and every device. Here SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server really helps me in the cases where some incident happens and the device gets faulty.
A small company I was working with needed a centralized logging solution to fulfill some security requirements of a client. They didn't need anything robust and powerful (e.g. Splunk or SolarWinds' other logging solution) and they didn't want to spend too much money on the solution. Based on those requirements, SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog worked perfectly. The solution did everything we needed it to do and was very user-friendly.
Pros
User-friendly
Inexpensive central logging solution
Fast and simple implementation
Cons
Better search functionality
Improve organization of nodes
Support other backend OSs

The SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server does what it's supposed to do. It's a bare-bones Syslog Server. If your company is just trying to fulfill security requirements or doesn't need all the advanced features of a product such as Splunk, then Kiwi will work well and not break the bank. Using the tool is very straightforward as there aren't a lot of options outside of just viewing logs.
We use SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server to accumulate and store all of the log entries from our network devices, firewalls, servers, and printers. SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server was very easy to set up and we have had no issues with it since it was installed. I recommend it to any system administrator that needs to store and report on log files entries across multiple devices. Excellent!
Pros
Stores log file entries from multiple devices.
Provides a simple easy to install and use interface.
Cons
The setup menu is a little cumbersome and could be improved and simplified.
Easier on-demand reporting would be useful.
Likelihood to Recommend
SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server is an excellent log file storage and reporting program and is also very inexpensive for unlimited nodes. That is unusual in today's systems and network administration market. Most software in those categories is way overpriced for small to medium-sized businesses. SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server is affordable and works well.

Kiwi Syslog is used only internally by our network engineering team. We consider it to be highly useful; as it's easy to set up and has minimal need for any additional configuration. We use it regularly as a replacement for the SolarWinds Orion Syslog that is part of their NPM package; as we find that the NPM syslog can't always keep up with logs.
Pros
Fast! Logging is close to real-time.
Simple set up
Cheap. The whole product is usually less than $300 USD.
Cons
Minimalistic; If you're looking for something with analysis features look elsewhere.
Operating System support is Windows only.
Some management features cannot be configured via web interface.
Likelihood to Recommend
SolarWinds Kiwi Syslog Server really thrives in environments where the network is small enough that high scalability or log analysis are not required. I would avoid using this in a network where automated log analysis is required, and would look more at a SIEM or something in that same vein. It should also be noted (and hopefully managers or product purchasers are reading) that this isn't the same as a SIEM, and therefore isn't a suitable alternative to one -- though it is great for what it is.

We're currently using it to monitor our data center servers and network devices. It's helping us a great deal in identifying all sorts of issues across our infrastructure and server hardware. The easy to read and view log viewer as well as the easy to set to setup logging capabilities are outstanding.
Pros
Collection of SNMP traps a reliable and stable collection server for these is crucial to troubleshooting and time to ROS. Kiwi excels at this.
Easy to install set up and train users on.
The free version is a good free tool and handy to use for personal labs and other smalle use cases.
SNMP traps to user readable format is great, sometimes syslog and smnp messages can be hard to interpret and read with out a knowledge of how to do this.
Cons
I think they could enhance their UI and update it a little.
More filter options would be a great quality of life improvement

I honestly don't think there is another Syslog server on the market that is as easy to use, manage, and set up as Kiwi Syslog. SolarWinds has created a great product. I think Kiwi Syslog is an excellent solution for really anyone in the market for a mid to large SNMP and Syslog collection agent. Kiwi has been a staple for almost as long as I've been in the IT industry. It's reliable, stable, and has years of excellent development behind it. Kiwi Syslog is one tool that, whether you use the free or the paid version, I believe a data center or any IT department truly needs.

This software is used by the IT team to retain our logs of all our critical network devices. It was purchased for ease of installation and for the support provided by SolarWinds. I have been pleased on both counts. This software was extremely easy to configure and get going in a matter of hours. I would certainly buy this again in the future.
Pros
Easy to install.
Easy to configure.
Support was top notch.
Cons
There are free options available so price is a concern.

If you have syslogs that you need to collect in an easy way this software would certainly do the job for you. It was easy to implement and has been a breeze to maintain. If you need to consider something opensource Graylog is a great alternative. If you are OK with the cost Kiwi is great.
