The application can debug issues and monitor long learning queries on various projects and tasks. It detects problematic issues on our marketing infrastructure to enhance efficient production in our enterprise.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

we are using Splunk AppDynamics as observability tools and troubshooting tools for monitoring log messages and trace business transaction flow SO we added required systems to Splunk AppDynamics and created Dashboarded based on each team requirements and scope for example NOC team just need to be alerted if any issue happen other teams need more details like application support team need complete tracing for the logs

triggered messages based on event logs we need to show another messages for NOC team to reflect the real issue

log message dashboard is very helpful especially for NOC team so we created dashboard with alerting so they can take the required actions with concerned team
scenarios that is less for example URl monitoring we just need to add URL to monitoring to confirm it is up and running and it is health

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As someone directly working in in the collections process , i dont directly manage the tool , but i rely a lot on the systems it monitors , Splunk AppDynamics really helps in keeping alll those application and files stable and fast . I would say especially useful for monitoring both legacy and newer application in one one place and the visibility into primary work environments adds much needed confidence that systems are working fine under control

Pros

As per what i have noticed so far Splunk App Dynamics does really well in helping our operations team to quickly figure out where the issue is actually coming from without wasting time in any downtimes.
There have been times when our CRM or payment system started lagging while we were on calls with different customer . Earlier it used to take alot of time to figure out the reaal issue or what went wrong but as if now team directly checks the transaction flow and identify the exact point of delay.And then issues were resolved as swift as you would like to see.

Cons

For me Loading time and Performance are some fields it can improve on as there have been time when dashboard feels slow and doesn't properly show in the first attempt especially on certain browsers , xan be frustrating sometimes
Another thing I would say is the dependency on some third party tools especially for us . For ex if our team wants to restart the services based on any issue , its not available and require integration with other tools.

We depend on our CRM system and payment platforms , If a on call customer is trying to make a payment and system is slow it directly affects us. Splunk AppDynamics proves . to be helpful in such situations...as it gives our team clear visibility into transaction flow and they can quickly identify the cause , however i feel it less appropriate for smaller setups or teams that dont possess a monitor team . Since it provides detailed data , it can be overwhelming and may not be fully utilized at the same point

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my organization, we use AppDynamics to track performance, monitor logs, and errors of our microservices. AppDynamics helps us to track and monitor the overall health of our application. During peak times, traffic load, response time, and application errors are captured and monitored. It is being used for more than 400 microservices as a monitoring tool.

Pros

Log monitoring and observability.
Traffic load over the time.
Response time and application behavior monitoring.
Error logging and capturing.
Integrated with Grafana and other monitoring tool.

Cons

Sometimes page gets stuck.
Cloud version as not suits well as Data Dog does.
Page redirection and switching different for each sub items, refresh thing.

Likelihood to Recommend

App Dynamics is well-suited if you prefer an on-prem monitoring and observability tool for application log tracing, traffic load monitoring, response time, and other metrics, with Grafana and other tools for checking memory and CPU utilisation. On the other hand, if you want to use it for reporting and incident logging, then U can use Splunk for notifications and log search. It's not useful for anything other than monitoring and observability in one place.

Its Splunk forwarder can be improved, as its a little complex to setup.
The pricing can be better.

we are using this to monitor every aspects of our organisation related to business or operation issues. It detect and resolves issues automatically. It is easy to integrate or implement in the existing infrastructure. It has best in segment monitoring tools. It gives the alerts if any issue occur. It is very beneficial for our IT department. It ensure security and there is no downtime of our existing application. Also we can add indicators for detecting the issues.

Gives the clear view of any slowness or issues on the dashboard.
It is robust, transparent and scalable.
Provide very accurate response.

Cons

Pricing is high needs to be pocket friendly.
Database monitoring is getting slow sometimes when data is huge or complex.

Splunk AppDynamics is our primary tool for monitoring the applications and all the servers and also it analyses the application load and traffic requests to give us clean picture of end to end flow of application so with this all our servers will be actively monitored and we get alerts if anything crosses threashould value apart from this we track the application user requests and monitoring the performance of a complex system also it provides clear vision of the full architecture including the communication/flow between different services part of the solution

Some improvements visualization all things on dashboard

For Monitoring purpose definitely I would suggest this as it stand in top class monitoring view and apart from the live application monitoring is also it has very good visualisation and its has both machine agent and app agent which helps monitoring both servers and applications differently and very efficient way and we get all back tracked data as well incase if we need it for forecasting also

In my case, as a software developer at a financial institution, I am responsible for developing the integration layer in the bank's architecture, so I often use Splunk AppDynamics to monitor my applications: their heartbeats, their status, the number of users using my API, etc. It also shows me the links between the different services.

Recently, our mobile app crashed for no apparent reason! Suddenly, without any specific warning or prior issues leading up to this major crash. Everyone tried to blame the integration layer. But... thanks to Splunk AppDynamics, I proved that our microservices are working well and are responsive and that did not only prove that we are innocent, but also helped us to figure the main reason of the crash
