STACKIT Distributed Cloud brings cloud infrastructure and selected platform services into a customer-controlled environment. Its SDC Core deployment provides Infrastructure-as-a-Service on premises and can operate independently of the internet for workloads requiring local data processing and operational control.
Key Capabilities
- Local workloads: SDC Core supports virtual machines, object storage, and database services. STACKIT Kubernetes Engine provides Container Management capabilities for running containerized applications locally.
- Disconnected operation: An air-gapped deployment can run without active internet connectivity. Software updates arrive as immutable, signed distribution bundles that customers deploy.
- Resilience: The documented SDC Core architecture uses three availability zones with automatic data replication.
- Tenant separation and metering: Multiple tenants can share the environment with isolation between them. Integrated usage metering supports internal cost allocation.
- Key control: SDC Core supports hardware security module integration with customer-supplied encryption keys.
