What is Object Desktop?

Object Desktop by Stardock is a suite of desktop management and productivity tools, used to standardize Windows workstations across the enterprise environment, and reduce the cost of migrating from older versions of Windows.

Start11, one of its included applications, allows users to make Windows 11 look like Windows 10, or Windows 10 function like Windows 11. It can also be used to create a standardized Start menu or dynamically load a Start menu layout on user login, and ;ock the Start menu items so that they cannot be moved or altered to keep a consistent experience across users.

An additional app included in Object Desktop is Fences, which brings structure to any desktop by arranging apps, files, and icons into clean, customizable layouts. Fences makes it easy to keep desktops organized by project, file type, sprint, etc.

The app Groupy brings a customizable and universal tabbing experience to any desktop, allowing the user to add tabs to any desktop application and group them together, or launch multiple apps together with a single click. Adding an Accent to a tab makes it easy to organize these tabs by task, type, or program.

Object Desktop also includes Multiplicity, a KVM solution that enables users to control multiple PCs with one keyboard and mouse. With it, all accessed Windows PCs operate as one, with fluid mouse and keyboard movement between devices, and users can remotely control Windows devices with monitor streaming to another PC with a tabbed interface. Through copy and paste or drag and drop, users can share clipboard across all connected devices, or just drag and drop files between devices. It can also be used to add a monitor to a workstation using the display of another PC.

Additionally, Object Desktop provides credits to DesktopGPT, which is the company's desktop application that lets users access multiple AI models directly from a desktop. DesktopGPT can be interacted with through a simple AI chat interface, or through templates and assistants of prestructured tasks that primarily support web research and document writing by adding clarity, elaboration, formatting, and other functions.

Object Desktop is available via annual subscription starting at $50 per year (up to 5 installs supported) for a small or home office, with $79 per license as the cost for corporate environments.

Now in Alpha is Stardock's Clairvoyance AI, presented as an AI staffing platform that allows users to access various AI models (e.g. Gemini, Claude Code, Github Copilot, etc.) to perform various tasks. These can range from bug fixing and investigation, to document analysis, to accounting taxes, etc. Object Desktop subscribers have pre-release access to Clairvoyance.
