Great Product and Support

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We turned to StreamShark Live Streaming Platform a few years ago, when it was the only platform that easily offered all the features we needed for our annual 3-hour live performance event in Los Angeles. Not only has the flexible platform been a perfect fit for our end user needs (pre/post programming, multilingual live captions, easy player customization, immediate on-demand availability), but the addition of dedicated live support (on the evening of 12/24) has given us a higher level of expertise, security and confidence each year. Every aspect of our engagement, from our contracting to platform performance and in particular the dedicated support, brings us back.

Pros

 • Flexible Platform
 • Responsive Support

My experience with StreamShark Live Streaming Platform is as a live streaming platform, with on-demand access to the event after it ends. It's an excellent platform for this use case.

Ideal streaming/ hybrid events platform

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have over 70,000 customers around the world and needed a solution that allowed us to launch our new platform in a consumable way. I had been researching different virtual events and streaming platforms and kept coming up against the same problems. They either couldn't be branded, the signup flow added friction and would have caused drop off, or quality of the stream was poor. It was also important that I was able to get data and analytics from the stream. This meant that embedded YT live was out of the question because embedded YT don't always count the views. StreamShark Live Streaming Platform allowed for a solve for all of these problems. The team were incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. The platform itself is very user friendly and any questions I had were solved straight away. The video engineers even stayed up to 2 am AEDT to make sure our AMER stream went off without a hitch. This will be the platform I recommend to my event networks

Pros

 • Live Support
 • Stream Quality
 • Ease of useability

Cons

 • Being able to add SRT files to pre-recorded vids intended for livestream

StreamShark Live Streaming Platform is great for live events, pre-recorded events that you want to make look live and with its extended functionality of pre and post event stream options you can create a unique user experience

Cons

 • Accessibility in the form of in house closed captions
 • Added customization to the front end experience
 • Additional in house analytics

For internal communications such as Town Halls, StreamShark is a perfect solution. StreamShark provides the necessary security needed for private companies as well as a tried and true viewing experience for the end user.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

StreamShark is utilized by our organization to broadcast internal live events to employees. We also use this platform to manage our Video-On-Demand archives.

Pros

 • StreamShark has an excellent live support model, which gives us real-time support on live stream productions. Another feature we like is the Okta SSO integration. This makes it simple to manage access to the videos and streams.
 • Our account manager, James Broberg, is an absolute pleasure to work with. He clearly has our goals in mind when he suggests the new features in our bi-weekly meeting.
 • Additionally, the StreamShark support team, namely, Yudong, Robert, and Aakanksha drive our requests to completion in a timely manner.
 • The look and feel of the GUI is user-friendly.

Cons

 • It would be great to encode using Variable Bit Rate. This would allow for potential network savings by optimizing unused bits while still allowing to deliver higher quality video.
 • We’d like to see user-level access and not just admin-level access. This would be a limited-access role, but would still allow users to upload videos, understand insights, and manage streaming content.

Likelihood to Recommend

StreamShark is well-suited for large one-to-many broadcasts, but there are more nimble videoconferencing solutions that can accommodate smaller attendance collaborative events, primarily due to the near real-time nature of videoconferencing solutions.

StreamShark Review

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use StreamShark primarily as a video streaming platform for live events. It is used across the organization for staff meetings, training, community/industry events, etc. StreamShark addresses the following challenges:

Localized (within Australia) ingestion and redistribution of live video streams.

Protection of video streams through integration with SSO.

Pros

 • Localized media ingestion, encode, redistribution.

Cons

 • Multiple homepages for channels e.g. one for public and one for internal.

StreamShark is very well suited for live streaming!

Two Streams, One Team

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

StreamShark is currently utilized by our Corporate Communications team to host and live stream video content across the business. Service Stream needs to be able to communicate messages through the video medium across 2,000 employees and 19 offices. Our video host needs to be scalable and stable which StreamShark provides.

Pros

 • Easy to use interface.
 • Fast buffering and load times.
 • Mobile responsiveness.

Cons

 • Channel support (see YouTube channels).
 • More Webinar options, i.e. polls and attendance.
 • Better reporting (see Zoom, i.e. advanced attendance logs, attention tracking).

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for live stream scenarios. It's an easy to use plug-in with Epiphan hardware and provides a stable environment for videographers to play in.

Not suited for on-demand hosting in large organizations that have Office 365/Microsoft Stream licenses. The ability to connect Active Directory to Microsoft Stream is a killer feature, can StreamShark implement this function?
