Comprehensive UI Suite that Accelerates Development

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Syncfusion® Essential Studio® primarily to accelerate the development of data-driven applications. Our business challenge was to present complex information from ERP and CRM systems in a clear and user-friendly way without investing excessive time in building custom UI components from scratch. Syncfusion’s ready-to-use grids, charts, and reporting tools allowed us to quickly deliver interactive dashboards, PDF/Excel exports, and responsive interfaces that our customers expect. The scope of our use case spans internal business applications, customer-facing portals, and reporting modules. By relying on Syncfusion, we reduce development effort, ensure a consistent user experience, and gain access to a rich set of components that cover everything from data visualization to document processing.

Pros

  • DataGrid: Extremely powerful for displaying, filtering, grouping, and editing large datasets with minimal implementation effort.
  • Document Processing: Reliable libraries for creating and converting PDF, Excel, and Word documents that integrate seamlessly into our business workflows.
  • Charts and Dashboards: Modern and interactive visualizations that make complex business data easy to understand and user-friendly.

Cons

  • all is working great :-)

Likelihood to Recommend

I would rate Syncfusion® Essential Studio® a 10 out of 10 for recommendation. It is particularly well suited for scenarios where complex data needs to be displayed and managed efficiently, such as ERP, CRM, or reporting applications. The ready-to-use DataGrid, charting, and document processing components save significant development time and provide a professional, consistent user experience.

Another strong scenario is when building dashboards or business portals that require interactive visualization and export capabilities (PDF, Excel, Word). The libraries integrate seamlessly into .NET and web applications, making them ideal for enterprise use.

It may be less appropriate in cases where only very basic UI components are required, since the full power of the suite might not be needed and could be considered an overhead.

Syncfusion - exceptional customer technical support

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have been using Syncfusion for developing solution which requires a decent amount of data analysis and data visualization. In our case, having a modular structure, lightweight and UI centric development is crucial. We have already made the beta version and currently working towards the main solution. We are mainly using their asp.net core controls apart from some others.

Pros

  • Great documentation
  • Great support service
  • Good cross platform UI

Cons

  • Honestly nothing as such. When we use more functionalities, we may come across some.

Likelihood to Recommend

The UI components are quite impressive and any product / solution where UI is important is served perfectly well by Syncfusion. You may need to tweak to your need but the basic default versions are quite workable too.

Syncfusion® Essential Studio® Controls

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I need ready-made web controls to shrink my development life cycle. I work in various technologies and these controls should be available in those technologies. Syncfusion® Essential Studio® is just great at this.

Pros

  • Integrates well into Microsoft tech stack. i.e. ASP.NET, Blazor etc. So it acts as a plug-n-play, which is great!
  • Shrinks the development cycle without adding too much of its own ecosystem overhead.
  • Provides different UI skins so the controls don't appear as "stitched".

Cons

  • "Help" should have tech-stack specific code samples. e.g. ASP.NET Core 5+ with Razor Pages has examples in MVC pattern. This is not helpful.
  • A complete Solution having all controls in a specific tech stack should be provided so that developers just download it and look for things they need to implement. Something like HTML Website Templates using a specific CSS and JavaScript.
  • Sales/Marketing material should be backed with real code samples. Finally, "Developers" are your real clients!

Likelihood to Recommend

Firstly, the idea of Community License is GREAT! It's much better than a limited period Trial license.

Also, the "Ecosystem Overheads" are very less. You just have to plug-n-play.

That said, for bigger organizations, who don't want to dependent on a single vendor, buying an entire Suite becomes difficult. So, it will be great if a single control or a smaller group of controls is available for buying.

Syncfusion® Essential Studio® has an awesome WPFs pdf viewer and datagrid. Free community license until you make 1M revenue.

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Syncfusion® Essential Studio® to build a WPF app. What I really like about Syncfusion® Essential Studio® WPF offering is the PDFViewer with annotation features. The Datagrid and other controls are good too. The PDF and Word creation file format features are good too.

Pros

  • WPF Pdf Viewer with annotation support
  • Document creation (PDF, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • WPF Datagrid
  • Syncfusion® Essential Studio® is a jack-of-all-trade, master of none. You can get better PDF parsing and redaction elsewhere, but it's much much more cost effective, for simple needs.

Cons

  • In my opinion, WPF's spreadsheet isn't good (slow, buggy, etc.)
  • I think WPF's diagram could be better / more graph features

Likelihood to Recommend

The free community licence when you make less than 1M$ revenue.

Pros

  • Data visualization - loved the choices that are available
  • Particularly liked the timetable module

Cons

  • As far as data visualization goes, the asks never end. I would like to see more options and flexibility around this.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is very useful where moderate to complex workflows are involved especially when intended users are of different skill levels. In our case, the application that is being built would be used by people whose tech skills can vary from 0 to 10.

Nice controls to have

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Syncfusion asp.net core controls that help us to build interfaces quickly in razor page applications.

We mainly use the grid, that helps us create "list" pages with filters on columns relatively quickly and easily.

The datetime control and the treeview (even if difficult to master) are also helpful

Pros

  • Grid with filters
  • datetime picker

Cons

  • Documentation for asp.net core controls, for the two way binding
  • Real-life complex examples
  • Radio-button and checkboxes bindings

Likelihood to Recommend

It's appropriate when you need complex controls, don't use it if you just want to build some tables without any filters.

If you just need some radio's and checkboxes it's easier to use simple html with some bootstrap or alike css frameworks for the style

Couldn't have done it without Syncfusion

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The company's main product is an executive information system, essentially a data mart that is populated nightly during an ETL process. Syncfusion was used to create a separate website to maintain the vast amount of metadata used to drive the functionality of the main product. The Syncfusion driven website is comprised of about 80 pages, primarily datagrids only. We use ASP.NET Core. Some pages have master detail grids with a grid on top driving the content of the grid below. Others have subgrids within a grid and can be viewed and maintained by expanding a row in the master grid. We used treeview controls, menus, popup windows, and others. Not an extensive use of all of the controls available, but extensive use of datagrids.

Pros

  • The datagrid's built-in functionality is extremely robust. Sorting, filtering, various columnar controls, moving columns, resizing, etc.
  • The sheer number of controls available is comforting. Although we did not use most of them, it is good to know that they are they if we need them for this and other applications.
  • The support is world class, even for a single developer company like us. I can't say enough good things about the support. They saved my behind more times than I can say. They are knowledgeable and responsive. The Chat feature is very useful.

Cons

  • I'd give the documentation a B+. Most times I can find what I want but sometimes what I'm looking for is buried. Overall very good, but could be a little bit better.

Likelihood to Recommend

The datagrid is probably their most popular control I would think. It is so flexible and configurable. Most of mine are plain views in ASP.NET Core, but I have a whole bunch that are dynamically created at runtime in my controller. That is so powerful.
