SysMLv2 Editor
What is SysMLv2 Editor?
SysMLv2 Editor is a Visual Studio Code extension for textual modeling in SysML v2, developed by Change Vision, Inc. It lets systems engineers write SysML v2 models as text in a code editor and view diagrams generated from that text.
Deployment
SysMLv2 Editor is installed from the Visual Studio Code Marketplace and runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Key capabilities
- Textual SysML v2 modeling in Visual Studio Code
- Diagrams generated automatically from SysML v2 text
- Syntax error detection while editing
- Go to definition for model elements
- Outline view of the model structure
Scope and limitations
SysMLv2 Editor is a text-based tool. Its models are not compatible with the data format of other Astah products, such as Astah SysML (SysML v1). The extension stops working when the license expires. Change Vision also offers SysMLv2 Modeler, a separate SysML v2 tool currently in early access.
Licensing
SysMLv2 Editor is not sold separately. It is included with Astah SysML, Astah System Safety, and the Faculty Site License. A 20-day free trial is available.
