Telefónica Virtual Data Center (VDC) is based on VMware product, implemented in Telefónica's Data Centers, which offers a comprehensive response to deploy infrastructures on their platform, boasting maximum security and flexibility. The VDC platforms are installed in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Spain and USA second node in Ashburn-VA guarantees the integrity of the solution.
The service allows the user to create the desired infrastructure in the cloud to host business applications with the same capabilities of a traditional data center, but with the flexibility to scale as needed. VDC also includes value-added services to allow the user to optimize their infrastructure, including autoscaling, additional monitoring, and license management of software applications deployed on the infrastructure. Backup, disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) and security management of applications are also available. The service also includes a self-management portal.
