TrakSYS is great MOM software
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use TrakSYS as a manufacturing execution system to help run our manufacturing lines at multiple sites. It helps provide real-time production information to the lines like SPC (Statistical Process Control) graphs which is interlinked to your equipment via OPC (Open Platforms Communication). We can easily view OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) for the production lines as well. One can easily view the process order, batch and product information. It is interlinked to our ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system to obtain any new process orders. Also we can handle any non-conformances and send it up to ERP.
Pros
- OEE dashboard where you can quickly judge a current shifts effectiveness
- SPC graph to monitor dosing on the production lines
- Management of Process Orders
- BOL and EOL operations linked to users
- User and role management
- Workflows to manage tasks
- Notification System to notify users
Cons
- Coding wise it takes getting used to, but once you learn where everything is it gets easier
Likelihood to Recommend
When you have manufacturing lines that need proper control and want to collect information based on how well it run then TrakSYS is ideal. TrakSYS has a template system that support generic setup of multiple lines. TrakSYS however is not ideal if you want to deviate too much from the template model. It is possible but defeats the purpose of the template system. Better then to write a customised solution outside of the software.
