Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I utilize SecureCRT to connect to multiple customer environments, each in its own folder with all my command-line interfaces configured. I also have preconfigured remote desktops configured to use local customer PCs for troubleshooting in their local environment. The number of devices I connect to varies by customer — some larger organizations may have hundreds of switches and routers I need access to. This also applies to the various other systems I work in and maintain.

Pros

  • Session Manager--being able to organize my customers and device connections.
  • Session Options--pre-configuring connection protocols, appearance and credentials.
  • Transfer of Data--sending and receiving device input and output.
  • Ability to run scripts.

Cons

  • I have no complaints about the application. It simply works.

Return on Investment

  • Quickly connects to systems, especially in emergencies.
  • Spend less time maintaining spreadsheets and getting them opened, finding the device, and then copying the information over to access the system.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SecureCRT is used to manage our network devices and create quick scripts to push command and changes to our devices. Managing Network switches easily with taps and opening multiple sessions at the same time is save time of repeating the process for each switch. For our case we have more than 300 network switches to handle and manage in a daily basis, and with SecureCRT is making managing that easy and smooth.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SecureCRT helped us to access multiple networking sessions at the same time. The product is extremely helpful to network engineers without the need to remember the IP address of each and every device in the network. It allows us to transfer multiple commands to different sessions at the same time which makes our job much easier. In addition to that, it can assist with network automation and scripting as well.

  • Allows configuration of multiple network devices at the same time.
  • While doing network configurations we are able to monitor and log the sessions.
  • Able to select/highlight multiple text files from the network configurations as we display the show version or show tech-support commands.

Cons

  • There are not many areas where they can improve already a great product.
