What is Verisys?
Verisys is a provider of health care data (FACIS), coupled with health care industry experience to provide data through agile technology used to screen, verify, monitor for credentialing, enrolling, and hiring the individuals and entities in the health care sector. Verisys FACIS (Fraud Abuse Control Information System) delivers 360-degree transparency on providers, staff, and entities for the organizations who hire, credential, refer, and reimburse for healthcare delivery such as retail pharmacies, telemedicine, staffing companies, health systems, payers, and pharmaceutical companies.
Verisys’ FACIS database of 10 million records identifies current and historical exclusions, debarments, sanctions, disciplinary actions, and adverse behaviors derived from more than 5,000 primary sources. Most healthcare delivery organizations screen and monitor providers against the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE); that’s only one of FACIS’ primary sources.
Verisys verifies professional licenses and other data sets with primary sources using automation and robotics. Verisys verifies the license number, status, issue and expiration dates, and any current or historical disciplinary actions.
Additionally, Verisys enhances provider data quality programs and member services objectives by aggregating data, monitoring Medicare opt-outs, and looking for sanctioned or deceased providers. The customer can license the entire provider database or tailor a data set to any needs based on geography, provider type, specialty, or other criteria, and receive a one-time data set or receive updates at the frequency needed. The service can include updates as full replacement files or “delta files” that contain only the changed data since the last update.
