What is Wavenet Prime Messaging Solution?
The Wavenet Prime Messaging Solution is a messaging platform designed for Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and mobile operators. According to the vendor, this solution offers a wide range of capabilities, including managing multiple messaging modes such as Short Message Service (SMS), Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), and Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD). It caters to telecommunication companies, mobile network operators, communication service providers, messaging service providers, as well as IT and technology companies.
Key Features
Short Message Service Centre (SMSC): The messaging solution provides a highly scalable SMSC that can efficiently handle heavy traffic and ensures end-to-end SMS handling with First Delivery Attempt (FDA). It supports storing and forwarding messages, error-based message resubmission, Unicode and long message support, mobile number portability (MNP), input match, layered routing, and Signalling System No. 7 (SS7) integration.
Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD): According to the vendor, the USSD feature enables the routing of requests to the USSD browser and handles both Mobile Initiated and Network Initiated USSD sessions. It supports USSD redirection via Sigtran and Short Message Peer-to-Peer (SMPP) to third-party applications, offers an external application interface via SMPP and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), and provides user access control through Mobile Station International Subscriber Director Number (MSISDN) and International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) pattern matching and blacklist/whitelist checks.
Evolved Universal Synchronous Serial Interface (USSI): The solution supports Mobile Initiated (MI) and Network Initiated (NI) USSI operations, facilitates User Equipment (UE) registration and deregistration, integrates with Home Subscriber Server (HSS) and Call Session Control Function (CSCF), and offers A-Party and B-Party whitelisting capabilities.
Short Message Peer-to-Peer (SMPP) Gateway: The SMPP Gateway feature allows for offloading and accepting traffic from external SMPP client entities. It ensures flow control and congestion avoidance, session security and encryption, account profiling, queue and retry management, resource recycling, throughput control, and firewall protection.
SMS Firewall: The messaging solution provides robust protection against SPAM, flooding, mobile origination (MO) spoofing, mobile termination (MT) faking, phishing, and other security threats. It includes features such as global title (GT) scanning, origination address (OA) quarantine and alarms, whitelisting and blacklisting, and comprehensive CDR analysis and reporting.
Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC): The MMSC feature enables interoperability between 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) and 3rd Generation Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2). It offers retry schemes for failed messages, authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) functionality via Radius, auto provisioning of subscribers, MMS-specific CDR, transaction logs for each interface, blacklist for admins and users, and FTP backup of statistics and reports.
Short Message Service (SMS) Hub: The SMS Hub feature provides global title (GT) translation, mobile number portability support, firewall and personalized feature adding for MT traffic, store and forward and transparent message handling modes, SMPP to GSM and GSM to SMPP support, Send Routing Information (SRI) caching, address manipulation, Report SM Delivery Status (RSDS) and Alert Service Centre (alert-SC) handling, International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) hiding, and inbound/outbound address validation.
Personalized Messaging Services: The messaging solution offers various personalized messaging services, including incoming SMS copy, distribution lists, SMS forwarding, incoming/outgoing number blacklist/whitelist, auto-reply, and SMS parental control.
