Wavosaur is a free sound editor, audio editor, and wav editor software created for the purpose of editing, processing, and recording sounds, wav, and mp3 files. The software is specifically designed to cater to the needs of small to medium-sized companies across various professions and industries. It is commonly used by music producers, musicians, audio engineers, sound designers, podcasters, voiceover artists, film and video game production companies, as well as multimedia and advertising agencies.

Multiple Document Interface: Wavosaur supports a Multiple Document Interface (MDI) that enables users to work with multiple audio files in a single session. This feature allows for easy copying and pasting between different opened audio files and the creation of new documents.

Classic Editing Functions: Wavosaur provides essential editing functions such as cut, copy, paste, paste mix, paste replace/insert, paste to new file, trim/crop, delete, and undo. These functions offer users the ability to manipulate audio files with ease.

Processing Options: Wavosaur offers various processing options including muting, channel conversion (stereo to mono, mono to stereo), inserting silence, changing volume, normalizing level, fading in/out, inverting/flipping, and undoing actions. Accurate Waveform Representation: Wavosaur provides an accurate representation of audio files through its waveform visualization, allowing users to visualize the audio data. Import and Export Options: Wavosaur supports a wide range of file formats including wav, mp3, aif, aiff, ogg vorbis, raw binary, au/snd, ADPCM Dialogic vox, Akai S1000 sample, Amiga 8svx & 16svx, and wavpack. It also allows users to import any binary files and export files as text for use in software such as Matlab, Excel, or PSpice.

VST Plugin Support: Wavosaur offers solid support for VST effect plugins. Users can chain VST effects in a virtual rack, save and recall their chains, tweak the effects, and listen to the processed audio in real time. Wavosaur can load and save presets for VST effects and display multiple VST GUIs simultaneously.

Analysis Features: Wavosaur provides detailed statistics such as RMS power, min & max values per channel, and frequency analysis with 2D and 3D spectra. It also includes a real-time oscilloscope for monitoring audio input and output. Additionally, Wavosaur includes synthesis features such as waveform generation, frequency impulse train, and frequency sweep.

Special Features: Wavosaur includes volume envelope automation with multi-point envelope editing, slicing/auto-slicing, MIDI controller triggering for various commands, and support for custom skins. These features enhance the software's versatility and customization options.
