Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The software is extremely easy to set up, and it automatically does the IIS setup and broadcasting within the software, which is amazing for those whoa re not familiar with website hosting and broadcast setup. Permissions are easy to set up and logins are amazingly straight forward with permissions and live logs.

  • Groupings and logins
  • Web broadcasting, portal, and sharing

Cons

  • Could have provided more clear tutorials to install and setup.
  • Maybe a setup video linked to customer page.
  • Offer SFTP and FTPS as standard instead o Enterprise version as SFTP is becoming the new standard.

Likelihood to Recommend

If FTP is your primary setup, you're fine. SFTP would cost 4 times as much. However, it's a small price to pay for stability and security. Plus, it comes with 1 year of support.

  • Uploads content quickly.
  • Is easy to use.

  • Easier user guidelines might help this product slightly improve.

Wing FTP Server is well-suited in an environment where large files will need to be shared with partners and affiliates. Media sharing can often take awhile, and can take even longer with larger files. To ensure efficiency, it is good to always utilize programs like FTP Server to share files.
