Overall Satisfaction with Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM)

AirWatch has proven to be the best MDM solution our organization has adopted, serving over 100,000 users. It's highly effective and secure for managing emails, applications, and content, ensuring compliance across the organization. AirWatch is the primary tool we use to provide secure email access on external devices while maintaining compliance. It has effectively addressed key business challenges, such as enabling remote access to emails, calendars, contacts, and enterprise applications, making it an essential tool for our operations.

Pros

  • Enterprise application management - basically we can deploy the application under app catalog and end users can access these applications through their mobile devices after enrollment.
  • Content locker feature is one of the best features which I came across and it is widely used by any organization in order to manage all organization level content in it. It has many more features which we can explore and manage policies accordingly.
  • Admin Console, reporting services, accessing the public app through enterprise store, compliance policies, remote device wipe, passcode management these are major features which we can focus on and explore accordingly
  • Separate Inbox, contacts and calendar application for different OS. Boxer is their new application launch for emails on the device.

Cons

  • On-Premises solution is very slow compared to SAS and which is causing many issues while accessing emails on a device, server management, contacts sync issues, Reporting issue
  • AirWatch Inbox application was very buggy and created a lot of issue in our organization and it seems no one is happy with the performance AirWatch Inbox is giving.
  • It is very costly as per analysis provided by Gartner quadrant and for a small organization or for small user base it is not that much suitable.
  • We now have over 100,000 users utilizing AirWatch, and the organization is performing exceptionally well in providing services to both VIP users and the broader user base. The solution has greatly enhanced our ability to manage and support users effectively.
  • In terms of ROI, the organization is fully satisfied with the service AirWatch provides, and there are plans to explore more features from VMware in the near future. Our next goal is to leverage cloud-based services, which will further enhance our capabilities.
  • Having a solution like AirWatch in place always creates a positive impact within the organization, allowing users to benefit from the full range of services provided. However, based on feedback, some users are dissatisfied with the enforcement of certain policies required for enrollment. Previously, the process was simpler, with users only needing to enter their ID and password to access emails on their devices. The additional steps in the current process have caused some frustration.
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Suite
Previously, we relied on Exchange Active Sync and Blackberry services, but the organization decided to switch to AirWatch due to its extensive features and enhanced security. AirWatch has now been fully adopted across the organization, and we’re making the most of the available services within our scope. In my experience, this is the best enterprise mobility solution I’ve encountered, and I would highly recommend it to others looking for a robust, secure solution for managing mobile devices.
AirWatch stands out as one of the top solutions in enterprise mobility, offering features like mobile device management, email management, content locker, and Workspace ONE. Its strong focus on security, compliance, remote data wiping, passcode protection, and various other policies makes it highly reliable. For the past few years, AirWatch has been a leading solution in enterprise mobility. However, there have been some challenges, particularly with the AirWatch Inbox, such as applying compliance policies and compatibility issues with different Android models and versions. While AirWatch regularly releases patches every quarter to address these issues, some bugs have persisted for quite some time without resolution, leaving some concerns unaddressed.
