Overall Satisfaction with AlienVault USM

It is being used across the organization to address security holes that are not addressed by our firewall and other security infrastructure. It allows us to daily monitor our internal network for unusual or problematic activity that would not be caught using other traditional means. It was recommended to us as a result of a security audit.
  • Catches threats that are not detected by firewall and other systems.
  • Does a good job of showing a simple, broad overview of alarms.
  • Allows drilling down into alarms for detailed information about the threat.
  • We get a lot of false alarms, but I guess that comes with the territory.
I'd imagine it would be beneficial to any organization, but the price point my not be worth it for smaller organizations which may have more risk tolerance. As a rapidly growing non-profit, financial organization, we wanted to make sure we were doing whatever we could to protect our data security and our technology assets.
