Overall Satisfaction with Altium Designer

Using it to create PCBs for our robotic products.

Pros

  • Visualization of PCBA
  • Large component library
  • Source control
  • Collaboration

Cons

  • Easier integration to look up parts not in the library
  • Quick turnaround on boards that normally we would have outsourced to a PCB layout house.
Easy to use software. Sometimes need to google what I'm looking for from the main menus.
3d component view expedites the ability to choose where we place components to not interfere with mechanics.
Can share designs with other engineers instantly and make sure we are in synch.
Altium Designer is much more intuitive and has a far more comprehensive library already available.
