Overall Satisfaction with Aruba Networks Wireless LAN (WLAN)
It is used as a Branch Office WLAN controller with APs and as a Home Office (SOHO) Endpoint Manager (with RAP/IAP devices). It is managed by 2 Teams, and used by the whole organization for Home Office VPN connectivity. It addresses the problem of static VPN provisioning; WLAN provisioning through the VPN & VoIP Phone Connectivity with QOS.
- Overall AP Provisionment.
- Cloud-based management/provisioning of APs.
- SOHO Connectivity Troubleshooting.
- Simplify or enhance management of APs as corporate assets.
- Simplify device hard resets for laymen (end users).
- Better REST API instructions/documentation.
- WLAN over VPN.
- SOHO Endpoints.
- Office WLAN Provisioning.
- Saved millions in opex over 10 years utilizing VoIP.
- Effortless mobility from Home Office to Branch Office to Wi-Fi, including AP handoffs in offices.
- Added redundant layer for VPN ingress alongside other methods (software VPNs).
- Given a degree of DR with Datacenter vs. Office VPN termination.
Cisco Aironet did not even compare to Aruba, Aruba was so far advanced from Cisco back when we used them. Aruba solved several business problems all in one ecosystem, all Cisco did was acted as somewhat intelligent Access Points. Aruba enabled us to leverage VoIP, use APs as VPN endpoints/devices, manage individual devices as assets, etc.
