Overall Satisfaction with Audacity
I use Audacity to create samples of music, karaoke tracks, and piano accompaniments that we sell on our website. I appreciate the simplicity of the product, ease of use, and ability to trim, edit, and extract the audio in a usable format (it allows you to choose between AIFF, WAV, mp3, AC3, M4A, MP2, FLAC, AMR, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, etc. and options for various bit rate modes, quality, variable speeds, and channel modes (stereo/joint-stereo). I also appreciate the ability to change the speed of the music without changing pitch and the ease with which I can transpose. The sound quality of the transposed music is surprisingly good.
- Simple to use.
- Free download.
- Free version has possibly limited options for someone with more advanced skills.
- I have uploaded samples of our products to soundcloud.com which has been hugely instrumental in attracting customers to our website and convincing those customers to purchase because they are able to see and hear the quality of the product we provide. Providing samples also allows us to give customers a taste of the product without allowing illegal downloads or pirating of the products.
I haven't used other products like Audacity. This program came highly recommended to me by a producer when I was looking for an inexpensive way to edit and save music files. I have been using it for the past seven years and have been extremely happy with how easy it is to use, update, and learn.
