Overall Satisfaction with Azure Blob Storage

We use Azure Blob Storage for various organisational needs, including storing documents, claim bills, backups, media, and archives. It's very convenient to use, easily accessible, and secure. These use cases are used by our various departments, making it a one-stop solution for most of our needs. As our business grows, we will have more such use cases in the future that can leverage Azure Blob storage.

Pros

  • Media storage like training video, claim bills etc.
  • Database, application backups.
  • Data Archiving.

Cons

  • Still need better API capabilities, such as querying data in storage, and stronger rate limiting.
  • Still lacks object-level access control to have granular access over each object.
  • Need to have better API integration with third party applications.
  • Azure Blob has reduced our overall infrastructure cost.
  • With Azure Blob Storage, we don't need dedicated personnel to maintain storage and its related infrastructure.
  • Azure Blob Storage provides a one-stop storage solution for most of our business needs, allowing us to focus solely on the business.
Azure Blob Storage is serving us well for our day-to-day business needs, including media storage, backups, archiving solutions, API integration, etc. It has reduced our infrastructure costs to a great extent. In the Azure ecosystem, integration with other Azure apps works seamlessly, providing additional value for Azure Blob Storage.
Azure Premium Blob offers better latency than competitors. It works best with the Azure ecosystem, and competitors lack it. Azure Blob even stands out in storage durability, providing up to 16 nines. It can have various use cases that can suit all the organisation's needs. The Azure Blob solution can also be deployed on-premises.

Azure Blob storage works really well with the Azure ecosystem like Azure entra for security, Azure data lake for analytics. Its a good solution for storing unstructured data and and can be accessed over the web or mobile. However, its not appropriate for migrating few of the legacy applications that works on a traditional file system.
