Pros

Report visualization - data can be visualized in many different ways with interactive charts and graphs
Data detail - Birst provides drill downs that can show a lot of detail in the data
Ease of use - reports are intuitive to drill down into, even for non-technical people, as long as you have some excel experience

Cons

Column mapping, make it easier to remap changed column names
Allow data input through Birst - Birst is only a data viewing tool. It would be nice to allow users to input data, e.g. let users select accounts out of a list inside the tool and save that information directly to the data behind the view for other users to see.

Return on Investment

Better customer service for outside partners - reports can be made available for outside vendors/partners to view directly and updated frequently, rather than through email.
Better employee efficiency through data visualization - employees find the reports easy to use and can get answers to their questions quickly.

Birst is excellent for visualizing data, but not for data interaction. If data input is required, Birst is not recommended.
