- Assists industrial engineers with cost and process assumptions for part manufacturing such as die casting, injection molding, hot forming, machining, investment casting, sand casting, sintering technology, sheet metal cutting, stamping and forming, forging, printed circuit board assembly, extrusion of plastics and metals, manual and automatic assembly... and many secondary operations such as welding, bonding, etc...
- Enables cost engineers to document their own know-how for use in the concept phase for early optimization / frontloading.
- Needs some training. Not for absolute dummies.
- Give the value engineers an appropriate toolset for facilitation.
- Give the cost engineers an appropriate toolset for improvement and negotiation.
