Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst IR1100 Rugged Series Routers
We are using Cisco Catalyst IR1101 Rugged Series Router as an edge gateway to forward data to Azure IoT services. We are leveraging Edge Intelligence to do so to grab data from OPC UA Server and MQTT broker and forward it to the cloud for data processing and dashboarding.
- Connectivity to the cloud
- Connectivity to various protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, etc.)
- Possibility to add custom code to do local processing
- The configuration is not easy to do with the console. A more user-friendly approach would be appreciated.
- When a problem occurs doing the configuration, the debug information is not very helpful.
- WiFi capability would be great.
- Maybe have a version with GPU to be able to run AI models on it.
- Inbound protocol connectivity
- Outbound connectivity to the cloud
- Data processing at the edge
- Improve the time to market for IoT solutions
Simpler and cheaper depending on the use case.
