Overall Satisfaction with Cisco ThousandEyes

We got the Cisco ThousandEyes integrated directly as a part of our Meraki SD WAN solution. It has been enabled in 1 of our Meraki organizations because we have SDWAN+ license. This entitled us to setup few probes that we can benefit from when we want to measure Application performance.

Pros

  • synthetics probes
  • performance monitoring
  • easy to setup due to integration with Meraki

Cons

  • dependency of agent deployment
  • integration with multiple Meraki orgs only works if you have your Orgs in different geographic regions
  • it came for free with SDWAN+ license, however you have just limited number of tokens per month that you can use
  • we use it to monitor o365 app performance in some critical locations

Do you think Cisco ThousandEyes delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Yes

Did Cisco ThousandEyes live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Cisco ThousandEyes go as expected?

No

Would you buy Cisco ThousandEyes again?

Yes

Monitoring SaaS Application Performance A company who relies on SaaS applications like Microsoft 365, Zoom, and Salesforce. Employees complain about slow performance. Troubleshooting Hybrid WAN Performance. It continuously monitors BGP route advertisements and detects anomalies. It does not do deep packet inspection so to analyze malware traffic patterns or detect insider threats using deep packet analysis is not possible yet.
