Overall Satisfaction with D&B Credit Insights

We conduct market research on competitors and targets. We need to know a company's viability before we invest in or work with it. D&B Credit insights help us analyze a company's health by looking at its credit report before deciding whether to engage in it.

Pros

  • Credit reporting.
  • Debt history.
  • Trade payments on time or not.

Cons

  • I don't know how much stock I put in its proprietary scores like "PAYDEX" and others. The methodology behind them is minimal, especially for private companies that do not have to share their financials.
  • We use it to analyze the credit reports of a dozen or so companies a month. It's a helpful decision-making tool for assessing a company's health.
It's very straightforward. I've never had to contact their support for assistance. It works very similarly to other D&B products, so if you have experience with those, it should be very clear to use. No one at my organization has ever had a problem using this product.

I recommend using D&B Credit Insights to better understand a company's viability. It helps to know whether a company is on the brink or healthy. It also provides good information on whether it has significant risks related to its operations, but I don't put much stock in the proprietary D&B metrics that it advertises.
