Overall Satisfaction with Db2
I provide data from Db2 for CICS and in Hybrid Cloud environments via Apache Kafka for Online Shops by customers in the Public Cloud. The problem is, that you need x86 systems for the Apache Kafka Connectors, like Debezium, because they are not supported by IBM for s390x.
Pros
- Running many transactions with high amount of data in parallel.
- Keeping high amount of data save.
- Big I/O possible
Cons
- Open Source integration and compatibility
- Connection from Db2 on z/OS to zLinux or Open shift directly as a trusted system side by side
- good data processing
- nice encryption
- bad open Source integration possibility
