Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

We use [DraftSight] for 2d drafting of panel designs. It is very intuitive to use. We started when the product was free and got hooked. We were very upset when the free version stopped working and we were required to pay. We have one computer that only is used for the CNC and another for designing. Because of this we needed to purchase 2 copies of the program. It would be nice to be able to have one license work on 2-3 systems.

Pros

  • 2d design
  • Customizable toolbars and features
  • Intuitive to use

Cons

  • Free basic 2d would be nice
  • Paid basic version could have basic 3d elements
  • Templates are challenging to make (printer preferences, angle precision etc..)
  • Got hooked on free, then rather than retrain on new program had to buy.
Draftsight is good at simple 2d drawing. However, the 3d interface is less intuitive to use. Layer control is very good as well as customizable toolbars.
