Overall Satisfaction with GitLab

For people who are software developers, GitLab is top tier. In our office, where software development is a skill that is not our specialty, the UI of GitLab helps out immensely for projects big and small, and important and not. It can manage our product and automating deployment with very few, if any, errors. It's very useful to brings members of the team together for one project.
  • Flexibility for novice users
  • So many sources for help with Support and the Community who use it
  • Easy collaboration on projects
  • Few pesky bugs here and there, but nothing major
  • Forgiving UI, but also really slow UI
  • Dashboards should show analytics
  • Easy collaboration on Software Development
  • Easy to manage and host source code
  • Software's ability to integrate with third party applications was great!
We selected Gitlab for something I mentioned in the review: There is a huge community and support structure for Gitlab. It allowed us to learn the software a little easier, knowing that what we perceived as hurdles were being experience with others as well, but they worked to a resolution. We felt that the other software of that ilk could not hold a candle.
We did use one of Gitlab's paid plans, and yes we did use the security features. Gitlab is very forgiving to the novice user in the sense that it teaches you to spot the vulnerabilities to make sure you can identify them quicker. That bit of indirect learning allowed us to be more secure, because while the software helps spot flaws, it taught our workers to be much more efficient.
It made it so much easier to share code. Simple as that. One of the biggest selling points was allowing our users to work collaboratively without having to be in the same room, which was important to us, especially in the last couple years. Reducing validation problems is something that we have done, simply because of GitLab

Do you think GitLab delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with GitLab's feature set?

Yes

Did GitLab live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of GitLab go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy GitLab again?

Yes

During the pandemic, like so many other companies, we had a heck of a time brining people together to work on the things we need to work on. Once our team got on the same page, Gitlab allowed people collectively to work on a lot of projects just like we were all next to each other. I think the software is built for collaboration like that.
