Overall Satisfaction with IBM Apptio
We use IBM Apptio, Cloudability, and Cloud Savings Automation for financial reports of both technology and enterprise business expense management. The products facilitate central collection of data from actuals and provides usage reporting and forecasts. We additionally use IBM Apptio to support all budget forecasting and enabled our IT Product Managers to directly enter budget details into IBM Apptio for planning.
Pros
- Clear ability to trace data from entry through reports and downloads.
- Visibility into all data transformations and formulas.
- Flexible reporting for our Cloud Service Owners to create and share custom reports and views.
Cons
- Performance associated with number of open periods in the tool is a problem.
- Cost transparency has been excellent especially with the addition of cloud costs and connectors to key systems such as ServiceNow.
Editable tables have been the most significant feature enabling IT service owners to directly manage budget forecasts within the tools instead of balancing innumerable spreadsheets.

Connection from Cloudability to IBM Apptio has been the easiest data ingest process to support, visualize, and explain.
