Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloudability

Pros

  • synthetic tagging
  • rightsizing opps

Cons

  • The ability to discount AWS costs to match a customer's invoice from a cloud reseller. Custom business metrics are limited in their capability.
  • the ability to adjust rightsizing and all other screens to use a custom biz metric rather than default numbers.
  • advanced credentialing in gov environment is very manual.
  • the UI being dependent upon an API tool is a disappointment.
  • increased transparency.
the requirement to use an API tool like Postman makes it very difficult for most people to use. Whereas, TBM studio is excel-based so it is familiar. Cloudability also renames fields from the CUR making traceability harder. Cloudability doesn't receive all fields from the CUR, leading to data fallout. The use of proprietary names creates confusion -- e.g, Tag (Value) vs Tag (Key) in dimension drop down.

Do you think IBM Cloudability delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with IBM Cloudability's feature set?

No

Did IBM Cloudability live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of IBM Cloudability go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy IBM Cloudability again?

Yes

multi cloud environment being all shown on one screen is useful. seeing rightsizing opps across the environments and payer accounts is helpful. the ability to customize Cloudability would be nice. it is too rigid for someone who has experience with TBM Studio.
