Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloudability

Primary use is a visibility tool. We also use it to highlight optimisation opportunities and to share those with teams. Our problems are mainly in addressing the high costs of a DC migration exit, where we have higher than anticipated cloud costs that we want to optimise as soon as possible.

Pros

  • Visibility
  • Choice of risk based optimisations
  • User interface

Cons

  • BI
  • Speed to load
  • Training materials
  • Helped validate commitments
  • Helped with Contract negotiation
  • Started to make people take action
Often too slow. Realise that there is a lot of data to churn but it can become painful at times. Also the BI part is not great. We've ended up creating reports via Power BI. We need to get reports for Execs and that is not natively good and needs improvement.
Very little. Investment decisions are still seen as Capex and based on old and outdated DC models. We'd like to improve this and much of this is about the culture of the org rather than the tool. We need more on the cultural side - People and Process rather than the tool.

Do you think IBM Cloudability delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with IBM Cloudability's feature set?

Yes

Did IBM Cloudability live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of IBM Cloudability go as expected?

No

Would you buy IBM Cloudability again?

Yes

It is good at top down finops. It gives visibility to senior management and enables them to see things without needing AWS access. It gives good summaries. It can be improved by being better at the bottom-up stuff, and getting users to take action rather than just suggesting things that often are lower priority.
