Overall Satisfaction with IBM StreamSets
We use IBM StreamSets as one of our ETL products. We use it for a lot of transformations and sourcing data from various heterogenous systems. We mainly moved to IBM StreamSets so as to move from our traditional batch process of data aggregation to real time data aggregation. We also use this for streaming data. IBM StreamSets comes with a lot of inbuilt connectors that help with the development of integrations more seamlessly

Evaluating IBM StreamSets and Competitors
Yes - We replaced our previous data integration tool from Oracle using Stream sets. IBM Stream sets comes with a lot of source connectors and destination connectors which are easily configurable when compared to other tools that we have used in the past. Error logging and work flows seems to be better in this tool when compared with others in the past
- Cloud Solutions
- Scalability
- Integration with Other Systems
- Ease of Use
Integration with our current technology stack was one our key decision makers. Implementation time was another reason. The ease of learning also affected the adoption rate. The possibility of using this tools to teams outside of core IT was another reason for going with this tool. This being a SaaS solution helped with the easy adoption as no specific tools needs to be installed on users workstations.
I dont think we would be have to do another round of evaluation and selection process.
IBM StreamSets Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled

No we did not purchase premium support. We felt that the costs was a bit higher
We have had scenarios when an existing data pipeline that worked without any issues in the past suddenly started failing. Since this was related to our EDI B2B transaction, the failures meant a huge impact to our business. IBM streamset support was able to guide us and help us to fix the issue there by supporting business continuity.
