Why Nuance beats Kofax Power PDF.

Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF (formerly Nuance)

I no longer use Kofax Power PDF. It was such a dramatic (and for me, unnecessary) change from the Nuance version, that I uninstalled the Kofax and re-installed the Nuance. I'm very happy now. Sometimes new-fangled things don't always improve our lives! :-)

Pros

  • I don't remember being particularly impressed with anything about the product.

Cons

  • Too many features that are of no use to a user like me, and some of the features I need seem to have disappeared. It just wasn't worth the hassle.
  • There was a negative effect as I tried to work the learning curve, going from Nuance to Kofax. In the end, it made my work take longer, and thus I got nothing from the change.
Sorry, I found it very difficult to use; I liked Nuance MUCH better, and am very happy to have returned to it.
I tried Kofax Power PDF because I assumed that the "next generation" of the product would be a big improvement; it was not for me.
I never sought support.

None. I love the Nuance version, because it makes my editing very easy, without a million choices to figure out (hey, what can I say - I'm an old guy who can't take too much change!).
I am a sole proprietor, who does all of the PDF-related work on my own. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles - just something that's easy to use and supports my requirements.
