Overall Satisfaction with M1

Financial and Manufacturing software. Support knowledge is a struggle. Connecting the GL accounts correctly to Part Class and Part Group with multiple users. This causes a lot of issues once posted.

  • After getting customization queries created, we now have saved time with our Month-end Process - down to weeks, not months.
  • Inventory Tracking has improved organization with bar codes.
  • Teaching and empowering our employees to understand the software.
We needed to hire a process improvement and I.T. specialist in order to clean up the mess we created in M1 from start - 4 years worth of data. But now that it is cleaned up, M1 works better and we are learning a lot about manufacturing and Financial reporting.
M1 is better with the manufacturing side of software whereas Sage 100 is better at the financial side. Which is frustrating that M1 implementation people are not accountants, so they got us up and running but did not do a good job of making sure the GL accounts were setup correctly.

The "Where Used" feature is excellent and very necessary. The ability to clock in and out of jobs is great too, as long as you are in-house. Not so great for employees offsite to access M1 for clocking in and out of jobs. Reports are standard and not easy to customize to your specific company needs.
