Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft BI

Microsoft BI is being used by 2 departments: Financial Controlling and Quality. It addresses financial reporting issues on a monthly basis and overall quality reporting in terms of SLA and customer answers.

Pros

  • Integration process in IT Architecture
  • Ability to adapt with process

Cons

  • Graphical standard reporting
  • Using on premise, could be great to use it in the cloud
Microsoft BI's powerful integration tool makes it easy to adapt to a particular context with many heterogene sources (including external files from Access, Excel or csv).
Microsoft BI's technical integration is ok and an upcoming evolution could be done on this basis. The reporting tools are too Excel oriented. Doesn't give ability for multi-criteria analysis and dynamic dashboards. Report scheduling also seems difficult to put in action.
