Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Defender XDR

We use it to consolidate all of the defender incidents and alerts into an easy explained incident. It helps us in triaging, troubleshooting, and investigation. Then we can also use it for getting recommendations to actually solve the problem or fix the vulnerability that we have.

Pros

  • It helps the advanced hunting features.
  • The consolidation of multiple types of alerts into one incident and gives an attack story, full attack story. This helps us a lot.
  • It combines four or five different Microsoft solutions together in one place where you can administer them. This helps the administrator not to move between several portals, just do everything from one location.

Cons

  • I think there are multiple locations for reporting that can be better. For example, when we get a report about how many devices are onboarded to defender, you can get this from two or three places and it's not always consistent in the reporting. It's not also very user friendly. There's a huge graph that you have to press on to export, so it's not easy to filter on and get those. I think reporting is one of the locations that can be improved.
  • It's a positive effect because we are mainly a Microsoft partner, so we concentrate on Microsoft products and we are getting good feedback from when we started working with Microsoft. We got lots of attention and demand because of we are using this tool. So definitely positive or impact on the ROIs.
I've used Trend Micro, but it's not exactly the same because Trend Micro is equivalent to one of the parts of Defender XDR, which is Defender for Endpoint. But Trend Micro has also a portal that combines all the incidents like Defender XDR, but I think the Microsoft one is much better and more intuitive in working with.

Do you think Microsoft Defender XDR delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Defender XDR's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Defender XDR live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Microsoft Defender XDR go as expected?

No

Would you buy Microsoft Defender XDR again?

Yes

It is most appropriate when you are using all the Defenders Tech. The Defender XDR will be able to get the full attack story, but if you're using other tools like maybe one or two only Defender Solutions and other third parties, it's not going to help much there. It's like only Microsoft focused and so that's something, if anyone is thinking of using it, they need to know what is their stack first.
