Overall Satisfaction with MobileIron Acquired by Ivanti

We deployed MobileIron 2.5 years ago because of growing pressure toadd iOS devices as an option to our BlackBerry fleet. We use MI to secure and manage our iOS devices. We currenly manage 162 iOS devices across 5 offices. For us it allows us to secure our devices with a password, monitors jailbreaking and allows remote wiping. It gives us more flexibily and granularity than just Active Sync alone.
  • Make it very easy to apply different policies to different groups of people.
  • They support delivery of certificate based authentication. A must have my my opinion so users don't have to change network password on the device when they change their network password.
  • I'm not sure of weaknesses. I feel most of the issues we experience are because of limitation of Apple to allow access to certain functions or features we would like to control.
  • MobileIron has allowed us to start supporting iOS devices which has made our user's very happy now that they have an additional choice over BlackBerry. It makes IT happy as we still have enough control to be sure our data is safe.
Two and a half years ago the MDM market space was still a very new space. At that time we reviewed Zenprise and MobileIron. Both were very comparable but at the time MI allowed us to get in a a lower number of licenses and keep our cost low as we entered into supporting iOS devices. I would say we got a little lucky in our selection as year after year they are always rated high in the Gartner magic quadrent studies.
I feel that any company looking to support mobile devices needs an MDM to advance security and functionality.

Using MobileIron Acquired by Ivanti

At 162 devices there would need to be a huge issue or feature that MobileIron is missing to take on the task of moving to a new MDM. Currently that is not the case. Support has been very good in answering questions or addressing issues if they arise. In all honesty MobileIron just works and we don't have many calls on the delivery of email and other exchange data to devices.
