Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Cloud ERP
For a couple of my clients/customers, Oracle Cloud ERP is being used as an upgrade or replacement for traditional Oracle EBS ERP on premises, in order to be current with Oracle and have access to the best and most complete expanded ERP functionality available from Oracle. It's used mostly across the whole organization, and BUs, and functions as the enterprise system of record for these companies--financials are deployed and at the core of the system as well.
- Core financials (accounting hub--AP, AR, GL, and financial consolidations) are the best available in the software industry and an even better solution than its predecessor modules in Oracle EBS ERP
- Inventory Cloud is very functionally rich
- Procurement Cloud is very functionally rich
- Integration to any other cloud or on-premise ERP modules from a different ISV.
- Direct customizations for integration is not permitted to any Oracle Public Cloud solutions (SaaS or other).
- Need to rely on APIs alone for connections to other 3rd party packages / legacy solutions in the client's landscape.
- Positive in terms of system availability and constant up-time
- Functionality updates are handled by Oracle Corp, are immediate, and require no "upgrade efforts" by client(s) as with on-premise ERP solutions
- Online support, knowledge capital, and SME-tise is among the best.
Vs. SAP S4 HANA Cloud apps - far more nimble and performance is superior. SAP S4 HANA apps - while improved and a process time through put is better - is still slower and a less optimal Cloud ERP solution than Oracle. Think SAP R/3 on-premise moved to the Cloud, and faster due to underlying HANA technology but still burdened by application architecture decisions of the predecessor ERP on-premise solutions.
