Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Cloud ERP
An integrated Asset Management approach was the desired state for one of the major Oil Companies. This includes integration with Maximo and other key enterprise systems. We had to choose between a couple of our legacy ERP systems. We have had success with the way Oracle natively integrates and manages our Supply Chain function in the organization. So Oracle was a system of choice. Oracle cloud is still new as a concept and has not seen many implementations across the globe, so we were a bit skeptical and time will tell whether the end user experience is smooth or not
- Single source of truth for Inventory Management and native integration with Maximo
- Part of the overall cloud strategy and ability to work seamlessly across systems, anywhere any device
- Oracle as ERP is a mature system so high level of confidence in the system
- More native connectors to other systems
- Not many thought leadership or point of views available around key topics
- Some guidance and white papers on topics such as Inventory Management. More self-assessments from Oracle around system capabilities
- Yet to evaluate the return on investment
- ERP on the cloud is relatively a new concept and many other aspects such as cyber security etc need to further developed
There are number other systems available Microsoft AX to SAP. The organization had experience with Oracle in the past and were very with the satisfied with the operations. Also the cost of ownership was much less as compared to traditional on-premise systems
