Overall Satisfaction with Patriot Software

Patriot Software is an easy to use payroll software. Instructions are provided on how to set up payroll for your state, but some room is there for interpretation such that you need to call your state for clarification to get specific documentation. I am otherwise able to put in my payroll in a weekly basis and it calculates the payroll on its own.

  • Some instructions could be more detailed
  • Having a full service set up program can help time starved business owners
  • Could build out more integrations with more bookkeeping software
  • We've been able to pay employees affordably
  • It was a hassle to get the required documentation to pay employees
Paychex is considerably more expensive software granted they have services and analytics that are not available in Patriot. I am a small business with a tight budget, and that's why I ultimately selected Patriot Software because I can reinvest the savings in so many ways.

While it was fairly usable, it was a little challenging to set up properly.
While support is responsive, they just point to support docs that should be more detailed to begin with.
Patriot Software is great for a small business that needs to process payroll but doesn't have that much of a budget. Ideally, you should have some level of experience on your team to ensure that payroll is processed correctly as you have to figure some things out for yourself like how to get SUTA numbers.
